Reading Gas & Electricity meters via customers mobile device
We helped UK utility providers enable their own customers to deliver their Gas & Electricity meter readings from their mobile.
It took just 3 easy steps;
- Customer receives an SMS from their Energy Provider with a link to click
- The Utility bot is launched, turning on the OCR camera function. When held next to the meter, the reading is captured
- The reading is automatically saved to the providers database along with a captured image of the meter
Results showed a massive take up from previously disengaged consumers (who previously refused to supply their reading). Cost vs Results meant the Energy providers use the Utility bot on a recurring monthly basis, saving time and money.
